In Timespan, players travel across multiple eras to weave together a cohesive tapestry of history. Through clever card drafting and hand management, you will acquire pivotal moments ranging from ancient antiquity to the dawn of the space age. The core gameplay loop centers on evaluating risk versus reward: do you immediately bank points by locking in simpler eras, or do you hold out for rare, high-scoring synergies that require precise temporal alignment?
Each turn presents meaningful tactical choices without overwhelming downtime. As players place their cards into their personal timelines, they must balance chronological accuracy with event requirements to trigger chain combos. Shared objectives and race-style milestones keep interaction high at the table, creating engaging moments of friendly rivalry as everyone strives to secure the most prestigious historical milestones before their opponents.
