Each time the vampire lord visits a city, he plays a card face-down on his movement trail, laying devious traps, ambushing hunters with monstrous minions, and spawning new covens of vampires to advance his sinister influence track.
The hunters work as a coordinated team, navigating a relentless day-and-night cycle. During the day, the hunters can travel, resupply, search for clues, and treat their wounds. When night falls, however, darkness empowers the Count. Dracula moves exclusively under the cover of night, using his dark powers and deception to mislead the hunters or slip past their blockades. Every discovered clue, discarded ticket, and encountered rumor peels back a layer of Dracula’s trail, transforming careful investigation into a desperate, continent-wide pursuit.
When hunter and vampire finally cross paths, the game shifts into brutal, card-driven combat. Hunters rely on an arsenal of holy water, garlic, stakes, and revolvers, while Dracula retaliates with supernatural strength, claws, mesmerizing fangs, and the ability to transform into mist or a pack of wolves.
